Google will buy $40 million technology for Smart Watches from Fossil

The American company Fossil is probably unfamiliar to many of you, but represents one of the world's largest manufacturers of smart watches. In addition to creating her devices , she also produces smart watches for other brands that have little to do with technology: for example, Emporio Armani , Michael Kors , Diesel and others . Today it became known that the Fossil Group will sell Google intellectual property regarding a certain technology for smart watches, which is still under development.

The acquisition cost is $ 40 million; a sale agreement will be signed before the end of January. Also, part of the 200 engineers and developers directly related to the technology will move to Google as part of the deal. What exactly is a purchase is not known for certain. It is worth noting that the existing Fossil smart watch works on Wear OS - the Google operating system.

Earlier this year, several sources reported that in the future, Google will release a “smart” watch Pixel Watch. Perhaps the deal with Fossil is just designed for this - the acquired technology can significantly reduce the time to develop a new hardware platform and allow the company to quickly enter the wearable electronics market.

Along with the presented iPhone and Apple Watch models, Apple has added new accessories to the catalog of its online store. The range of the Apple Store has replenished with leather and silicone cases for smartphones, as well as all kinds of straps and bracelets for smart watches.

Leather cases : Green Forest cover for iPhone XS Max, Azure Wave Folio cover for iPhone XS Max,

Green Forest cover for iPhone XS, Pink Peony cover for iPhone XS.

Silicone Cases : Dark Lavender overlay for iPhone XS Max and Ripe Nectarine for iPhone XS.

Thongs : silicone "Dark Lavender" for the case of 40 mm and "Ripe nectarine" for the case of 44 mm; “Green Forest”, “Azure Wave” and “Pink Peony” with a metal buckle for a 40 mm case.
Bracelets : Golden Milanese loop for 44 mm case; sports "Red Hibiscus" for the case of 40 mm and "Stormy sky" for 44 mm.
