In November 2019, a California Congressman, Eric Swalwell appeared to pass gas during an Interview with MSNBC's Chris Mathews during a segment of Hardball. Mathews claimed that the fart sound was the result of a coffee cup being slid across a desktop.

In a attempt to get to the bottom of the matter, Fat Whiteman, Editor in Chief of Fat Boy News Network performed a scientific test with various sizes and shapes of coffee cups that seemed to support Mathew's claims. Whiteman has come under fire recently regarding the eficacy of the tests. Some are saying the tests were faked.
