RuneScape gold moving to monthly upgrades
Obviously the majority of the opinions will be"haven't they already done that" but lets actually have a discussion. They're officially changing the anticipation from every Monday having something to it really only being once a month. Seems like they are opting for the end of the month as a launch point for all of their updates. They have done this in the past, but its nice to know that upgrades are coming in the close of the month and then they use the month to build hype for that upgrade, sort of like how they announced Desperate Measures 20 days before its release.
As a whole I feel this is a fantastic thing, for both the players and Jagex. We don't have to log into every Monday to understand that there is not something brand new and instead can concentrate on the final Monday of this month and by the time it comes around we'll know what the upgrade is. In all honesty I believe that they should ramp down their focus on graphical fidelity, OSRS more than anything ought to be a indication that people mostly care about the mechanisms of RuneScape. Visuals that are barebones'd be taken by me available for update program that is expedited. I mean reuse and repurpose some of the models or animations out of RuneScape's past and jery rig some high quality content.
That's simply wrong, even OSRS is currently seeking to bring the remainder of their match up to the graphical fidelity of their latest content. Obviously, even their newest content still looks"old school" but that is the style they would like to stick to. Most other MMOs do not drop big updates monthly, plus they DEFINITELY do not fall weekly articles.
IMO if the remainder of the month are patches and we get Ninja fixes every two weeks, I think that is alright (based on how they're defining an upgrade ). It quells a number of the"when are we getting things" and satisfies both those that need repairs to RuneScape, in addition to ones who just wish to devour new content. If this procedure works, and they are able to get out high quality, meaningful updates once per month, with patches/fixes littered throughout, I'll be a happy camper.
That's the goal. I can talk to my experience, moving half way round the world for this particular work just 6 weeks past, to say how hard it is to do this from home vs the studio.
Simply put, sticking into the existing programs we had simply would not work for us as developers or you as gamers - the gaps on those bigger pieces of content would be much larger than anyone would love to see. Instead, the initiative was taken by the team and adapted our strategy. What this new approach does is decrease the chance of significant gaps between additive material, with a goal of delivering on a monthly cadence as soon as we can. The team are throwing themselves at this particular challenge and working super hard to make that occur. Honestly, I am pretty enthusiastic buy RS3 gold about the strategies as a player.
