People with complete rune armour (chainmail, so haven't done dragon slayer) coming up and asking stupid questions such as:"How do you get chunks of wool?" "How do you get silver pubs?" "Where's Draynor?" "What is the GE?"

Have these folks seriously never played with before? I ask them if they are on someone elses account, and have never played before, and they inform me they've been playing for ages. Sorry if this is a standard thing to happen now, but I seriously cannot believe these people who've had at least a fair amount of experience of playing not to know basic things like this. Have they been enjoying for days/weeks/months/years and not known any sense of direction/what they're doing and have cheap RS gold just been after people the ENTIRE TIME!
