I feel as though Runescape definitely could still be going strong

Their attention on OSRS gold graphics and tiny upgrades was unsatisfactory to me too, one of Runescape's attractions were the quests and I feel as though they missed out on some great opportunities. (Elf city??) I actually believe their pursuit system is among the best out of the MMOs I have playedand I really don't see a lot being released as of late. Perhaps I'm just bitter, but I feel as though Runescape definitely could be going strong if they had gone in a different direction.

The simple problem is that they kept doing things which split the fanbase, rather than listening and undermining. EoC is the perfect example -- yes, it meant they can do things in the sport they could not do earlier, but it cost them a huge chunk of the playerbase. Even in the event that you prefer EoC, was it really worth much decline in the match's popularity? I believe not. A bit more openness to compromise could readily have saved them tens of thousands of membership cancellations.

Another painfully obvious issue is they have been bleeding their Runescape customers dry to finance a huge string of flops. Every penny that has been spent on Stellar Dawn, Mechscape, Thirdscape, a string of complimentary iPhone games not to mention the huge fee for licencing the Transformers brand as well as the mountain of money that has been poured into making the perennially unfinished Transformers game itself has ALL come in the pockets of Runescape players.

While Jagex's additional flops (8 Realms, Funorb, etc.) might have earned a little bit of money, I doubt it coated the developments costs for people , so we've been subsidising those too. Runescape was starved of quests since the devs are off working on other games that never reach the point of being more tolerable. They published Birthright of those Dwarves just a few days ago and it is supposed to be a nice and challenging quest. Haven't finished it yet because I do not fulfill the requirements, but most men and women appear to be having a hard time with the boss fight(s).

Jagex is working on two more quests:'Missing, Presumed Death', a pursuit involving Sliske, Itchlarin and Death (as in the Grim Reaper). It is going to be based across Sliske's'rivalry' (not the best term as I don't think that it could be considered a rivalry seeing as until recently Itchlarin was much more powerful, so let's just say Sliske dislikes Itchlarin a lot) with Itchlarin and Departure's disappearance. It's a pursuit which can be regarded as the continuation of this World Wakes because we'll eventually figure out whether Sliske turned into a God or not and the way he got the team of Armadyl. I read they're also working on another pursuit but I really can not recall what it is about. It RS07 Gold interested me, that much I could remember.
